ASVAB
Although this test is required for entrance into any military branch, it is also a great career exploration tool for any student. The ASVAB is typically offered in the Fall of each school year. The test is given to all West Central juniors.
Students are encouraged to take the ASVAB in a school setting versus a branch location because the scores will be normed more accurately to their age and ability.
At present, the minimum required ASVAB scores on the AFQT are as follows, in descending order: Coast Guard (36); Air Force (36); Navy (35); Marines (32); and Army (31). These minimum score requirements are subject to change without warning, however. In addition, within each branch there are certain minimum score requirements for various specialties.
